DeepSeek Raised Prices. We Redesigned Review Credits.
DeepSeek changed API pricing. Mergestorm runs Vortex, Cyclone, and Tempest DeepSeek on that stack, so we redesigned monthly review credits. Existing paid subscribers keep their current allotment. New plans: Starter 70, Scale 400, Pro 900, Maelstrom 2000.
On August 17, 2026, DeepSeek updated official API pricing, including a peak / off-peak split. That is not a footnote for us. Vortex, Cyclone, and Tempest DeepSeek all run on DeepSeek. When the model bill moves, the credit catalog has to move with it, or reviews stop being a product we can stand behind.
We are not changing what a review costs in dollars on the checkout page. Starter is still $9.99, Scale $49.99, Pro $99.99 per seat, Maelstrom $199.99 per seat. What changed is the monthly credit pile that comes with each plan — so the reviews those credits buy stay honest after the new DeepSeek list.

The new catalog
New signups get this allotment:
| Plan | Price | Credits / month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $9.99 | 70 |
| Scale | $49.99 | 400 |
| Pro | $99.99 / seat | 900 |
| Maelstrom | $199.99 / seat | 2000 |
A credit is still the same unit it was yesterday:
- Vortex initial review: 1 credit
- Cyclone applied patch: 1 credit
- Tempest on DeepSeek V4 Pro: 6 credits
Free is 30 credits a month. Agent costs did not change. We redesigned the pile, not the meter.

If you already pay us
If you are already on a paid plan, you keep your current monthly allotment for as long as that subscription stays active. Cancel, and the grandfathered pile goes with it. Come back later on the same plan and the prior allotment still applies to that account. A brand-new signup does not.
That is the whole policy. We are not asking existing subscribers to eat a surprise cut so we can publish a cleaner catalog.
Why we did it this way
We could have ignored the DeepSeek hike and hoped volume stayed cheap. That is how review products quietly get worse: the same credit buys a thinner pass, or the pass starts skipping the expensive cases. We would rather show the new piles in public and keep the reviews themselves at the quality we already ship.
We are committed to reasonable prices for reviews. Plan prices stayed put. Credits still map to real work — one Vortex pass, one Cyclone patch, one DeepSeek Tempest run. The catalog is just the part that had to catch up to the model bill.
